ALEX Allergy Explorer is the first test in the world that can rapidly and reliably test for up to 300 allergens simultaneously. One blood sample is all that is needed to carry out a comprehensive analysis, making it a valuable diagnostic tool for the assessment of complex cases.
You may have symptoms such as itching, a stuffy nose, red watery eyes, or a skin rash if you're allergic to the substance in the test. In rare cases, people can have a whole-body allergic reaction (called anaphylaxis), which can be life threatening. This usually only occurs with intradermal testing.
ALEX Allergy Explorer is the first in vitro multiplex allergy test allowing simultaneous measurement of total IgE and specific IgE against a plethora of allergen extracts and molecular allergens. With an allergen panel of close to 300 allergen extracts and molecular allergens, a near complete picture of each patient's sensitisation status is obtained. ALEX is based on our proprietary nano-bead technology, allowing each allergen extract to be individually optimized for production.
